Learning a language requires dedication, but there is a lot more to it. It has to be fun and engaging, and the way to achieve this is by choosing the right learning resources.
I encourage you to think about the type of learner you are first: visual,
After, think about what you like to do in your life as a hobby: reading books/magazines, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, watching movies/TV shows, walking, cooking, etc.
Based on that, choose the resources for your language learning, and it’ll become a lot easier for you to learn that dream language. If you like watching movies, watch them in your favorite language. While walking, hiking, or doing sports, talk to yourself in the language or cook based on a recipe from the country where your language is spoken. The possibilities are endless.
So in this section, I’ve chosen some of my favorite language learning resources that will make your learning more engaging and fun, to help it integrate it into your everyday life:

Reading Resources
We’ll start with reading, as it’s one of the input learning skills we need to work on. While reading, you’re learning the language by seeing how sentences are structured, how the words are written, and learning how to communicate in everyday life.
I’ve selected some of my favorite foreign language books and magazines that are engaging and will help you learn your language.
You’ll get to read about topics that interest you, and with magazines, you can even create additional learning material. Learn how inside these articles:

Listening Resources
Listening is another input skill that I encourage you to build at the beginning of your language-learning journey.
My favorite thing about listening is that you can do it anytime and anywhere while also doing other activities in your everyday life, like walking, commuting to work, cooking, etc. The key here is to be exposed to the foreign language as much as you can despite your busy schedule. And that’s when listening comes into play.
Of course, it’s better to be fully present and focus on the content. In this section, you’ll get ideas for the best audiobooks and podcasts I like and how to work with them to learn your foreign language.

Writing & Vocabulary Resources
Stuffing our brains with new words and memorizing sentences isn’t going to help us in the long run. Sure, it’s important to memorize new vocabulary at the beginning because, without it, we can’t really produce the language, right?
In this section, I have some fun ways for you to approach vocabulary learning, including games you can play and ways to store new words in your brain so you can later use them when speaking.
We’ll write and construct dialogues for specific situations when you need to speak the language and have fun while learning new words here:

Speaking Resources
Speaking is the most important skill of our language learning. Because that’s the whole point of it, right? If we can’t speak and have a conversation with somebody, then what’s the point of learning the language…
And I know this is the most difficult part of it all. How many of us have spent 5-6 years trying to learn a new language at school, and then when we were faced with a situation and had to talk to a stranger on the street in the language, we couldn’t produce a sentence?
I feel you – but it doesn’t have to be like that! In this section, I’ll tell you how to work on your speaking skills and pronunciation and what’s important to overcome that fear of speaking.
We’re in this together, and you can master it, so read more below:
Audiovisuals – Watch TV Shows & Movies
Last but not least, I have some great news for you—what if you could learn a language just by watching your favorite movies or TV shows? How awesome does that sound?!
I mean, it’s not that simple, and the language won’t just pop into your head just by watching, obviously. But I know sometimes we’re so tired that we really don’t feel like opening the language book or stuffing our brains with new vocabulary after a busy and exhausting day.
So that’s when audiovisuals can come into play. Again, it’s important to be exposed to the language as much as possible.
So, instead of watching the news in your native language, watch it in your foreign language. Or put that movie on in a foreign language. It doesn’t matter that you don’t understand much. But you’re still in contact with it.
How often do we just play a show in the background without even paying attention to it (some people like to relax this way, right)? So play it in your foreign language. Your brain is at least getting used to it that way.
In this section, I’ll give you ideas on where to watch movies and TV shows in different languages and how to also work with them to learn your language:
