I’ve just started picking up some Italian, because I moved to northern Italy.
It was one of the times in my life when everything changed, and I listened to my heart, trying to figure out where to go next and what the right path for me in this next chapter was.
I was hiking in the Dolomites (northern Italy), and it was one of the best times of my life. I walked every single day for about 8 hours through these wonderful mountains. At the end of the trip, it was the first time in my life when I felt like if everything stopped, I would be happy to stay there. It was so strong, and I never felt like NOT leaving a place before.
It felt like the Dolomites were my second home, so I let it settle and continued with my life. After about five months, I still had the urge to move to the Dolomites, so I did.
As I navigate my new life in Northern Italy, setting up a new home, meeting people, and starting a new chapter, I have had to learn some Italian (even though German is also widely spoken here).
In this section, I’d like to give you some tips and resources for learning Italian. I highly encourage you to get into it. Just imagine visiting Italy and ordering Aperol Spritz in Italian at the Amalfi Coast.
