How To Get Around Lake Bled
The best way to get around Lake Bled is on foot or by bike. This way, you’ll enjoy it fully and not miss out on anything important. You’ll have enough time to explore the places around the lake and soak up the atmosphere of this incredible place.
There are more ways to get around Lake Bled, so let’s see what options you have:
Walking Around Lake Bled
Walking around Lake Bled is the best way to explore this place. The entire walk from Bled back to the town is 6 km (3.7 miles) long and takes about an hour and a half. It’s an easy walk without elevation so you can do it with kids.
Renting A Bike
Renting a bike is a great option if walking takes too much time. It’s perfect because you’ll be in nature and enjoy the lake. It’ll just help you reach the attractions faster than walking there.
So renting a bike is the best option if you want to stay sporty and get to the places faster. You can also get to Lake Bohinj and Vintgar Gorge by bike, which is a beautiful experience.
Renting A Car
Renting a car in Bled will be beneficial if you want to explore more than Lake Bled. With a car, you can visit other beautiful places, such as Lake Bohinj and Vintgar Gorge, and drive up to Bled Castle.
If you only want to stay around Lake Bled and don’t want to explore further, renting a car isn’t necessary as you can access everything on foot or by bike. But I highly recommend renting a car to get the most out of the region and explore other beautiful places close to Lake Bled.
Taking Taxis
Taking a taxi is another great option for getting around the lake if you want to get from point A to point B quickly. Let’s say you don’t want to rent a car but want to get to Bled Castle. Bled Castle is quite remote, so taking a taxi is a great idea.
If you’re staying in Bled town and want to swim in Velika Zaka, which is on the other side of the island, it’ll also be great to take a taxi.
So taking a taxi in Lek Bled is a great option to cover short distances around the lake if you don’t want to walk or want to get somewhere quickly.
